Out Doors Inc. (Out Doors) offers a range of recreational and active outdoor programs that cater to all ages (16+), fitness & experience levels, from beginners to advanced for better mental health.
A diverse range of programs is on offer from gentle introductory activities and recreational experiences to challenging adventures. Our programs focus on an individual’s ability and a strong emphasis is placed on choice, providing participants with the opportunity to challenge themselves at a level with which they feel comfortable. Programs assist participants to regain confidence and reconnect with their communities. Participants are supported to build positive social connections and access nature-based activities for better mental health.

2. How do I Register with Out Doors?
Out Doors’ programs range from day trips, overnight trips, and multi-day trips, focused on the specific needs of people at risk or living with a mental health issue
Our staff work collaboratively with participants to ensure the program meets the specific needs of the individuals and goals of the group, giving participants a sense of ownership over their programs. Activities include:
- Bushwalking
- Canoeing
- Rafting
- Surfing
- Cross-country Skiing
- Mountain bike riding
- Rock climbing
- Abseiling
- Creative programs like bush art and drumming

1. Check Eligibility
Take our eligibility quiz to see if you qualify for NDIS or State Government funding.
2. Book your free intake meeting.
If eligible, a button will appear after the quiz. Click it to book your intake meeting, or contact us at 03 9417 2111 or indoors@outdoorsinc.org.au.
Intake meetings can be held online via video call or in-person at our office. Our team will guide you through the process before your appointment.
3. Submit your Personal Information Form.
After booking, you’ll receive an email with a Personal Information Form. Submit your completed form before your intake meeting to avoid rescheduling.Â
4. Join us outdoors!
Go on your first Out Doors program. We can’t wait to have you join us.
Note: All new or returning participants (inactive for 12+ months) must join a 1-day activity followed by an overnight activity before progressing to multi-night programs.

NDIS Participants (16-64)
Out Doors is a registered NDIS Provider (#4050002688).
Participants who have an NDIS Plan are eligible to attend an Out Doors program.

Non-NDIS Participants (16-64)
Participants who do not have an NDIS Plan can access Out Doors services under our Planned Respite funding. The eligibility criteria for this funding stream is the participant must:
Seniors (65+)
Seniors who have an NDIS Plan are eligible to attend an Out Doors program.
Seniors who do not have an NDIS Plan can access Out Doors services under our Seniors Health Promotion funding stream. Eligible participants must:
Planned Respite and Seniors Health Promotion Funding is supported by the Victorian Government.
Program costs are determined by which funding stream you are eligible for and which programs you’d like to take part in.
Out Doors provides planned respite services to carers, giving them the opportunity to have a short break from their caring role.
The care recipient attends Out Doors programs and is supported to build positive social connections and access nature-based activities for better mental health.
During their time away with Out Doors, the carer can focus on their own health and wellbeing knowing the care recipient is engaging in activities that are challenging and fun and within a safe setting.
