Welcome Pascoe: Our Newest Out Doors Member

Hi everyone! I’m Pascoe, the newest member of the Out Doors marketing team. I have the privilege to talk a little about myself and my experience here at Out Doors Inc. I grew up in the far north of New South Wales, surrounded by rainforests and beaches, which sparked my love for the outdoors. My dad was passionate about surfing, camping, and bushwalking, and he passed that enthusiasm on to me.

I’ve always felt a deep connection to the forest. Growing up, my dad ran a wholesale rainforest nursery right next to our house, and I spent countless hours helping pot up, pull weeds and even planting/regenerating out on different sights. Seeing a rainforest grow and watching an area regenerate is one of the most rewarding experiences in my life.

One of my favourite places to go growing up was Moreton Island, where we’d spend hours driving through the sand, camping on the beach, and surfing every day. There was never anybody on the far side of the island where we camped, it was incredibly peaceful (apart from a few sharks).

I moved to Melbourne in 2020 to pursue my studies. Since then, I haven’t been surfing as much, but I’ve fallen in love with rock climbing, you’ll find me hanging off a cliff nearly every weekend now.

I’m excited to be part of such an incredible team here at Out Doors Inc. Since joining, I’ve had the chance to dive into our programs firsthand. One recent highlight was the Winter Warburton Wanderers, a fantastic four day program through the stunning Yarra Ranges, organised by Maddy. Our days were filled with exploration, from eating lunch at picturesque dams and Upper Yarra River to exploring the scenic trails of Warburton. I even got to try the world famous steak and bacon pie in Warburton!

We enjoyed a snow capped lunch on top of Mount Donna Buang and wandered through the majestic Californian Redwood Forest. We even got a forest bathing experience from one of our sessional Dr Liz. Each evening, we gathered around a cosy campfire to enjoy a hearty stew made by Maddy, it was delicious! The frosty mornings had us picking frost off the windows, but the sunny, blue skies throughout the day made up for the cold.

I had an amazing time on this trip, meeting and connecting with the participants. It was a great experience that deepened my appreciation for our programs and the beautiful landscapes we explore. I’m looking forward to more adventures and sharing more content with you all.

I am also happy to share a video of this trip with you all, experience firsthand how one of our trips are run, enjoy!
